It really is amazing the way an illustration can say so much more than whole reams of text.

Maybe it strikes a nerve (the optic one?) in the viewer conjuring up all sorts of associations, memories and feelings?

Maybe it just strictly describes a complicated technical process in an easily assimilated manner?

Maybe its simply pretty?

Well, the fact is that it can be all of these and more, and sometimes all of them at once!
